Water cooling custom PCs

A custom loop adds cost, maintenance and failure modes that air cooling does not have — in exchange for thermals, noise and appearance that some builders value. Before commissioning one, ask who services the loop, how often coolant and fittings should be checked, what happens if a fitting leaks, whether the builder leak-tests and for how long, and whether they will maintain a loop they built in later years. Also ask the simpler question: whether your workload actually needs a custom loop, or whether a well-chosen air cooler or all-in-one liquid cooler reaches the same result with less upkeep. An honest builder will sometimes talk you out of the loop — and that answer is worth more than the loop itself.
